If Konrad is "moving away from Fink as much as possible" then I'd say that if you or anybody else wants to do it, go ahead and make appropriate modifications to the package (new version, make sure it builds vs gcc 4.0.0 (and 4.0.1 if possible), etc.) and commit it. This isn't quite an "AWOL maintainer" situation, but not having a working Fink installation comes close. -- Alexander K.
