In case anyone else is following gcc trunk with fink installed,
I should clarify what I have found so far. If I have fink installed
(but not odcctools), I can build gcc trunk from the gcc svn against
Xcode 2.3. However, if fink is sourced I get the odd g++ regressions.
If fink isn't sourced, the resulting build passes its g++ testsuite
fine with fink sourced afterwards. So the problem appears to be
specific to building gcc with fink sourced. I am assuming this
can't be related to MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET because that should
only be set within fink when it is doing the build.
So I can only guess that either fink is setting some other
environmental that is causing the problem or some other fink
package that is installed is screwing up the build. Does anyone
know why the specific configure changes were made in the gcc4.patch
for gcc4 in fink 10.4 unstable? I should mention that if I apply
the gcc4.patch, these g++ regressions don't occur in gcc trunk
when built with gcc4.info. However this isn't acceptable since
gcc trunk builds fine when fink isn't sourced. So we are either
causing or exposing some breakage in gcc trunk. Any advice
would be most welcome.
