To explain: after the update, gettext (which really means gettext- shlibs but for historical reasons is called gettext) and gettext- dev are in one package, which is really just a legacy package for the old version of the library. The libgettext3-shlibs package contains gettext-bin as a splitoff (this is one of the things that was causing problems during the update). And gettext-tools is in yet a third package.

The split between libgettext3-shlibs and gettext-tools follows the packaging recommendations of the upstream author, and is a good thing to do because eventually libgettext3-shlibs will be essential and a part of our bootstrap and this split will dramatically decrease the bootstrap time. The split itself, though, is irrelevant for the current problem since both gettext- bin and gettext-tools are causing trouble.

It's actually only gettext-tools that is the problem. SysState would be able to resolve the gettext-bin part alone, since the .deb is available, but it can't resolve it in combination with the gettext-tools part. Since it can't figure out how to completely fix the situation, it just reports all the problems--including those it could fix.

So its only because we don't have a deb for (old) gettext-tools? If I built the old gettext-tools first it would be OK?
