The expect in Fink hasn't been updated for a long time, it uses an old
version of tcltk sources, and it doesn't build shared libs. It really
needs some maintainer attention (CCed). Nevertheless, with a little
tweaking to use the static libexpect5.41.a, cadabra seems to build OK
with it.

The currently existing pcre/pcre++ is too old to be accepted by cadabra.
Fortunately, Daniel Johnson has just proposed an updated version of
pcre-7.0 which takes care of this.

I have made packages lie and modglue[-shlibs] and put them into my exp
directory. Whoever will finally package cadabra can use them. I think
they are ready for being included in unstable.

With these, cadabra builds for me, and it would be easy to make a
corresponding package for cadabra without the gui part. This would bring
us up to par with the MacPorts version of cadabra which exists already
and doesn't build the gui either.

These would be needed to build the gui parts of cadabra. I don't have
time to look into this.
