Okay I understand the problem now. I had forgotten about the breakage I identified earlier when Norton AutoProtect was enabled while ccp4 was built (causing fsplit to malfunction). William Scott has added a test in the CompileScript to abort the build of ccp4 when a NortonAutoProtect process is found. However, while this works when ccp4 is built using 'fink install ccp4' it fails to abort the build when ccp4 is being upgraded using the 'fink update-all' command. Can any of the fink maintainers explain why the latter form prevents the test for NortonAutoProtect from properly aborting the ccp4 package build? Jack ps For some reason 'fink update-all' now seems to honor the test. Strange. I would be interested to know if this test fails for anyone else who has NAV 10 installed.
