I don't remember the previous discussion, but are you sure that this dependency on libgl isn't bogus? In the finished wxmac package, I don't see any mention of or link to anything X11 related (except in the docs). I just recompiled wxmac without this dependency and with /usr/X11R6 moved out of the way, and it looks exactly the same as the old one.
