If you want to check what was installed by a package, use "dpkg -L <packagename"> . It looks like glade2 may just not work any more. It has been pulled from the current source distribution in favor of glade3--which does appear to have the proper executables. Unfortunately there's no official binary version for that yet. There are a couple of options:
