Fink's latest gnuplot version is 4.2.5-2, so it's possible that  
whatever error you're experiencing with 4.0.0-1005 has already been  
fixed. Your package manager version is 0.27.13 and your distribution  
version is 0.9.0, which means you're using a more than one year old  
set of packages.

If you don't mind building packages from source, may I recommend you  
upgrading your Fink installation to a more recent version? You'll need  
to follow the steps described at
