Jeff,

for example, the escape key (M) lets you get into or math mode ('M-m m' for
inline or 'M-m d' for display formulas. I actually have set up lyx with xemacs
key bindings so I need escape all the time. It works fine with the 1.1.6 versions.
Thanks for the tip about the figures - but I had run a fink update-all when I
got the new lyx. The new version does have a nicer interface for
inserting graphics, so I hope I'll get it to work some day...

My other fink packages are up to date (against cvs), except for

(i) r-recommended 1.4.1-1 Recommended add-on packages for R
('GNU S').

Is there anything I can try to make this work?
