hey analytical minds out there :) OS ver.: OSX Server 10.1.2 Fink dist.: 0.4.0 CVS Package manager: 0.9.12 CVS
It was alright for the entire 24 days since the server I administer has been up. Today, while trying to run selfupdate-cvs (i do everyday) I ran suddenly into this: [michaelg@immunology2 ~] ->fink selfupdate-cvs Can't locate lib.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /sw/lib/perl5/darwin /sw/lib/perl5 /System/Library/Perl/darwin /System/Library/Perl /Library/Perl/darwin /Library/Perl /Library/Perl /Network/Library/Perl/darwin /Network/Library/Perl /Network/Library/Perl .) at /sw/bin/fink line 26. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /sw/bin/fink line 26. I feel like it's not fink's fault but rather something wrong with the server. But I cannot really remember I've done something extraordinary lately. I didn't install or wipe anything, i didnt change any configuration stuff. Just restarted sendmail twice and that's all as far as i can remember. Now if I try to do anything with fink I just get the same error message (above). My intuition tells me that If I restart the server it might get be fine again, but I cannot do that now because the server is far away from where I live and it's running headless on G3 which cannot be rebooted without monitor being attached to it. (It won't boot w/o a monitor). Also restarting is not a solution really because I can run into the same thing again. I'd rather like to know why, how and what I can do about this without feeling helpless in the future. What could be the culprit? Is it something serious or just a glitch? Can it be cured w/o a restart? Your ideas will be higly appreciated. Thank you.
