My guess is that your upgrade really didn't happen properly. Try doing a "dpkg -l | grep kde" and look for packages that don't end in -2 as their release number. If not, then perhaps you have some other library that uses X and linked against the 4.2.0-5 xfree86 that needs to be rebuilt. -- Benjamin Reed a.k.a.
