Hello there. Thanks for your prompt reply... Yes, I could download the .debs by hand, but I've resorted to running KDE from a Linux box as a stopgap measure (the beauty of the elder X, so to speak), and would rather wait until this gets fixed. Most of the work I do on the Mac is pretty straightforward screen/vi/ssh/make/cvs stuff, and Terminal (after a few tweaks) is more than adequate.
(I might have a look at the innards of Fink myself later on, though.) Feel free to annoy me for more details or testing, since I can reproduce this at will. :) R.
