As I explained in a previous mail, "fink selfupdate-cvs" indeed got slower for some systems, taking up to twice the time as previous, but certainly no ten fold increment should happen, and there is nothing in the code that could cause this. Maybe somehow your "storable-pm" package was removed, that would explain why it is so extremly slow. Just "fink install storable-pm" if you are not sure.
