Hi,

Do any of you know of a (preferably fink-ized, preferably open
source) spreadsheet program that can *write* ".xls" files? My
physics professor requires us to turn in our experiment results
in that format, and running down to the computer labs at school
isn't my idea of a good time.

AFAICT, none of siag, oleo, gnumeric, abs, and kspread write
actual ".xls" files. They are all compatible with Excel via CSV
or some other textual format.

Sorry for the off-topic post, but I'm having a hard time finding
what I'm looking for elsewhere. Reply by private email if you'd
like; I will summarize the results to the list in a few days. Or
if I'm too far off topic, tell me that, too.

Thanks,
Dan
