Ron, you might try doing a fink install on the placeholder. You do this by: fink install system-xfree86
system-xfree86 is the name of the placeholder. You may also have to do a specific version (4.1) since 4.2 is the new current version. Then try and do the update, I believe this will fix your problem of it trying to install xfree-rootless a second time.
