Thanks again to Martin. Yes, I installed fink in /sw.
I did the cvs update, and then using FinkCommander have tried to install the fvwm2 binary.
I got the following error:

Is your fink installed in /usr/local instead of /sw? If not, you have here some interference with other stuff in /usr/local wich you might want to move out of the way.
