xpdf in the unstable tree doesn't work with Jag I believe.  You are 
correct that the issue is a need to upgrade to the Jaguar tree.  It's 
been fixed there.

The KDE packages (3.1 beta1) in the 10.2 distribution work fine on 
Jaguar.
