Could be both, from my brief run through the FAQ.  But it is still in its infancy and 
requires Tcl to run, so the question would be: how does one get there from scratch ?   
As opposed to Fink which has a very nice "from scratch" mechanism.   Worked great on 
my new Jaguar system.

I'd keep an eye on it, but would not worry yet.  But that is just my opinion.
