Well IMO I've seen other package management systems from Hubbard
flourish (which of course has to do with the users also - fink people
are a good breed) ..

I agree. TCL is an interesting choice - especially for cross-OS
porting of the darwinports tree (ala NetBSD's Zoularis) but /bin/sh is
also a cross OS nightmare.
