No, the error messages you saw are not normal.

Looking at your output, it appears that the database used by dpkg has
become corrupted, and that you added or updated some packages at some
point but that this was not recorded properly in the database.

I wouldn't worry about this too much.

One thing you might do is reinstall or upgrade the "mysql-dev" package,
which should fix the error:  

  /usr/bin/otool: can't open file: libmysqlclient.dylib (No such file or directory)
