don't take it wrong, but i did understand that. The xfree install i've remove was the binary install from XonX, not the xfree packages from Fink. I thought I had made that clear, but forgive me if I don't speak english well enough :-(

You still don't understand, though... the xfree install didn't include those libraries.. fink installs them in the same directory as the install from XonX. So deleting the XonX install removes them from fink's knowledge and it still thinks they are installed.
