Tenon has done no such thing. I am an XDarwin developer. Tenon has done
nothing to block OpenGL support in XDarwin. In fact, a preliminary version
of XFree86 with OpenGL support already exists. Go to http://xfree86.org/cvs/
and download the source and build it yourself. You will have hardware-
accelerated OpenGL in XDarwin's rootless mode.

Modifying XFree86 to use Apple's OpenGL library is not a "teeny tiny
modification". The glue code between X11's GL and Quartz's GL is non-
trivial, is tricky to do correctly, and requires significant knowledge
of the details of both systems.

Tenon worked on GL for a while, along with their rootless implementation
(which is unrelated to XDarwin's), and charges $199 for the result. XFree86
uses a BSD-like license, which specifically allows them to do this.

I worked on GL for a few weeks, and the result is in XFree86 CVS right
now. If you're displeased with it or with Tenon's version, feel free
to write the "teeny tiny modification" yourself. Neither Tenon nor I nor
anyone else will forbid it as you accuse.

As far as I know, Darwin does not come with an OpenGL library. Is Apple evil
because they charge for OpenGL support?
