[Fink-users] Help a moron. Apple's X11 and KDE

I installed Apple's X11 and it works fine. I'm trying to alternatively run KDE. I change .xinitrc to exec startkde and, after the screen changes then it dies. Could a patient soul direct me to step by step directions to utilize KDE?
