Subject: Re: [Fink-users] Help a moron. Apple's X11 and KDE
From: Mark Stosberg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I installed Apple's X11 and it works fine. I'm trying to alternatively
run KDE. I change .xinitrc to exec startkde and, after the screen changes
then it dies. Could a patient soul direct me to step by step directions to
utilize KDE?
First you should post which version of OS X you are running, which
version of KDE you are running, and you installed it-- binary or source?
Did you try running KDE with another X server? Did it work? Did you look
in any log files for errors? What did they say?

Sorry not to provide the information to help.

My system:
Apple X11 0.1
Mac OS X 10.2.3 (6G30)
Power Mac G4 (version = 2.0)
gcc (GCC) 3.1 20020420 (prerelease)
Package manager version: 0.11.1
Distribution version: 0.5.1.cvs
Developer Tools December 2002
bundle-kde-ssl 3.0.7-7 installed binaries
KDE worked previously with XDarwin.

What log files would provide information?
