Indeed I had this version of APPLE X11 installed. I withdrew it and reinstalled Xfree86 but perhaps I forgot something.
Well, if you have other things built against the old x11, they may still be confusing matters (ie, if you built qt against apple x11, and then try building kde, it will still have wrong symbols).
