has anyone been able to successfully compile gaim from CVS? if so, would they care to enlighten us? i really like the new features in gaim .60 and would like to get it working on my fink machine.

after about a week of searching, i finally came across something useful that allowed me to get it to compile. here's what i needed to do to get it working:
1) change all instances of 'uint32_t' to 'u_int32_t' in src/protocols/msn/msn.h and src/protocols/msn/switchboard.h (there are only about 4 instances of it, but it needs to be done so gcc understands what it means).
2) set the CLFAGS environment variable to "-no-cpp-precomp" before you run ./configure. this will ensure the preprocessor behaves like the GNU version. (if you're using bash, you just need to do 'export CFLAGS="-no-cpp-precomp" '
that's it. hope it works for you.
