It's not going to be restored. That was an alpha version of Python 2.3.
The latest version in the 2.3 line is 2.3b1. When it's superceded by 2.3b2
it will likely be removed as well.

Why is fink distributing alpha and beta releases of Python? If people want
to try it out, installing from source works fine.
