Indeed, I didn't know this, I guess I'll make a new gnucash rev this weekend to solve the issue and allow gnucash to be launched as /sw/bin/gnucash from the applications menu.
Sorry for shouting about setting paths, when it is apparently impossible to do so for the X11.app Applications menu.
