Would it be possible to replace the current system-xfree package by two
packages : system-xfree421 and system-xfree430 to allow people who built
to the latest apple X11 from source to install stuffs that requires
XFree86 4.3 ?
Not only for the latest X11 from Apple, but also for xfree86-4.3.0 installed from xfree86.org's binaries or compiled from source. This system-xfree86-4.3.0 has been missed for quite a while, and I think someone is now working on it. I am CCing this to the devel list so that it doesn't get forgotten. Maybe one should also file it on the package-request tracker (or even on the bug tracker, because pango1 cannot be compiled as it is when you have xfree86-4.3 installed from outside Fink).
