XFree86 (I installed it via fink, and haven't seen a reason until now to
even consider going to the Apple x server) won't even start up. I get the
same errors as above, with the addition of:

Jul 30 09:38:10 may /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding:
             /Applications/XDarwin.app/Contents/MacOS/XDarwin could not be
             launched prebound.
Jul 30 09:38:10 may /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding:
             /Applications/XDarwin.app/Contents/MacOS/XDarwin couldn't be
prebound in the past, and probably can't be prebound now.
Jul 30 09:38:10 may /usr/libexec/fix_prebinding: 2003-07-30 09:38:10 -0400:
              prebinding for XDarwin done.

(I reformatted the listing because pine's folding of long lines made it
nearly unreadable otherwise).

Whatever line's the actual fatal error, X won't even start up now. I'm
unhappily considering redoing the entire fink installation.

IF I have to re-install fink:

1) D'you know, is there any simple way to extract the list of installed
   packages from fink?
2) My config probably still reads 10.2, I notice that there's a 10.3,
should I have 10.3 in my config instead of 10.2?
3) What is the correct thing for me to do about having the 3.3 compiler?
Is there perhaps some way to simply take out that part (like maybe to
go fetch the original developer tools from December and reinstall
   them, would that work?)
