When you close your iBook, the machine will go to sleep. This probably will not screw up you compiling, but I rather would prefer to suspend the compling (^z) before I put the machine to sleep and resume later with "fg". Also, I am pretty sure (however not to 100 %) that the machine will go to sleep according to your settings, even if it is compiling. You easily can test this. If it does, you need to increase you time until sleep to "never". Hope this helps.
