No, nothing compelling, just that bit about being behind the latest version.
I could offer a compelling reason: The clisp plugin for the latest texmacs needs clisp-2.32, acoording to the author of the plugin.
So if you guys have results, or if those packages could be put up somewhere, you would be welcome.
