It's not simple to figure out the list, since it depends on whether you'll have to build vim, or just have to install a .deb that you already have.

I was not suggesting that it was simple, but it is not an unusual feature of a package management system.

You might as well just do 'fink install vim'
That was just an example, but no just installing vim does not do what I want ;-)
