that fixed the problem. Some feedback on gimp2-svg (had a Freudian slip when typing the original message about gimp2-swf): I tried most tools and exported png, gif without problems. Transparency works, too. So do keyboard shortcuts.
The only thing I found missing was the online help.
I don't have much else of the gnome suite installed, just gimp and the things it depends on (which apparently includes xml-parser-pm581).
