Or simply rename this /sw/fink/TIMESTAMP.tmp file with mv TIMESTAMP.tmp TIMESTAMP.tmp.old and see if this helps. I had the same problem some time ago and this did the trick for me. Two days later I read about troubel in finks mirror net mabye it is again so but I doubt it I today sucessfully updated fink and installed a package.
