I've been having problems with master.us.finkmirrors.net, too.
Switching to another mirror works.

What can I do to fix this problem?
Do you have a firewall at work and/or at home?
Or simply rename this /sw/fink/TIMESTAMP.tmp file with
mv TIMESTAMP.tmp TIMESTAMP.tmp.old and see if this helps. I had the
same problem some time ago and this did the trick for me. Two days
later I read about troubel in finks mirror net mabye it is again so
but I doubt it I today sucessfully updated fink and installed a
package.
