I used to have mozilla 1.5.1-1, which worked all right, and I updated to version 1.5.1-2 (latest binary available), and now all bold text appears as normal text, which is extremely frustrating. I tried to switch to the very latest version available, 1.7.5-1, and the problem is still there.
Maybe try to change fonts and/or fonts size.
