It's safe to install 2.1. If there are still any packages which work with 2.0 and not 2.1, let me know and I'll commit a fix. The most common symptom of 2.1 breakage is the error "array type has incomplete element type". 2.1 fixes a couple of compiler crashes which were affecting Fink.
