Find out for us! Edit the snort.info file (I suggest copying /sw/fink/10.4-transitional/unstable/main/finkinfo/net/snort.info into /sw/fink/10.4-transitional/local/main/finkinfo for safety) to remove the dependency on samba, and then let fink build it. If the package runs fine with the built in samba, then we can see whether the dependency still needs to be there, or if we want to have some sort of virtual package, or... -- Alexander K.
