Thanks for the quick answer - I will certainly try what you're suggesting. I 
guess my question was also a little more general than that, as the $subj 
should have implied: is there a way to offer fink package installation with 
another option for every "missing" dependency, with the path where a specific 
required package is installed (a-la config/make/make install in the other 
*nix world)? Can I modify the info file (or something else) to do that, just 
in case other dependencies show up, down the road?!?
