Am finally attempting to upgrade (I've been away). OSX 10.4.7 server, xcode 2.3, Dual G5 (PPC), case sensitive HSF+
Chose to try the upgrade script (after making a backup of /sw) (This machine is a deb server for the rest of my macs, and I don't want to mess around figuring out the list of packages to repopulate a new install.) Searched the list archives but didn't find it. I then ran sudo apt-get dist-upgrade as instructed, and it complained Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these. Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies: maxima: Depends: clisp (= 2.35-1) but 2.35-1001 is installed E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f. Since maxima is out of date, while clisp has been updated, this will probably resolve itself in due course. I then embarked on fink self-update, and after a few dozen packages, the libgda error hit again. So I'm now building everything else that is out of date, pending figuring out how to solve the libgda problem.
