Jeez, I found it.

I had started amarok via amarokapp, but I figured how to run it via  
amarok binary by mending my PATH.

So if started via "amarok" it seems to load a whole lot of libraries,  
controllers, kio-slaves and so on, currently scanning happily my  
Collection via AFP ;-)

Sorry to bother you, guys, thanks for the tips!
