Does anyone have evolution-1.5.92.1-1026 up and running? It compiles OK on a PPC G5, 10.4.7, 10.4 tree, everything up to date unstable (except OOo). But when I try to run it for the first time, the setup process ends up in a crash. These are the errors I get in the xterm I launched it from:
prompt> evolution-1.5 asked to activate component_id `OAFIID:GNOME_Evolution_Addressbook_Component:1.5' (evolution-1.5:21609): evolution-mail-WARNING **: Could not setup local store/folder: Could not load /sw/lib/evolution/1.5/camel-providers/libcamellocal.so: dlopen(/sw/lib/evolution/1.5/camel-providers/libcamellocal.so, 10): Symbol not found: _gethostbyaddr_r Referenced from: /sw/lib/evolution/1.5/libeutil.0.dylib Expected in: dynamic lookup (evolution-1.5:21609): evolution-mail-WARNING **: Could not setup local store/folder: No provider available for protocol `mbox' account gui setup checking writable option 'auth' perms=00000040 checking writable option 'use_ssl' perms=00000010 checking writable option 'auth' perms=00000040 checking writable option 'use_ssl' perms=00000010 (evolution-1.5:21609): Gtk-WARNING **: Ignoring the separator setting (evolution-1.5:21609): evolution-mail-importer-WARNING **: Broken line: (evolution-1.5:21609): evolution-mail-importer-WARNING **: Broken line: (evolution-1.5:21609): evolution-mail-CRITICAL **: mail_config_get_account_by_source_url: assertion `source_url != NULL' failed Bus error A copy of the crash log is here: http://quantum.leeds.ac.uk/~viv/evolution-1.5-crash.log I can see obvious problems like not being able to create the local store/folder, but I don't know where it is trying to create this so I can't see what to do to help it past this stage. It has created a sensible looking set of stuff under ~/.evolution: calendar key3.db secmod.db cert8.db mail tasks ./calendar: config local ./calendar/config: ./calendar/local: system ./calendar/local/system: calendar.ics ./mail: local ./mail/local: Inbox ./tasks: config local ./tasks/config: ./tasks/local: system ./tasks/local/system: tasks.ics And there is stuff under .gconf and .gconfd too. I actually don't really want it to access any email, since I don't run any local sendmail, so I can't (it seems from the setup) use it to send mail anyway. But I do want to see how it does accessing calendars and contacts lists from an Exchange server. I'm telling it to access the Exchange email using IMAP, and the information I give it _should_ work (it works for pine...) Any clues much appreciated! If I could bypass the set up and configure it later by hand that would be fine... cheers, -- Viv ------------------------------------------------ Dr Viv Kendon [EMAIL PROTECTED] Quantum Information tel: 0113 343 3858 Physics & Astronomy University of Leeds http://quantum.leeds.ac.uk/~viv ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
