My experience with that version of Evolution was very similar - it always
crashed.  After using the "ximian-connector-setup" to configure my exchange
account, when Evolution started it would crash, ending with a "bus error".

There is a newer version of Evolution (2.6) in the experimental CVS tree.  I
have had mixed results with that build as well.  Sometimes I can
successfully connect to the Exchange server and other times I cannot.  I
can't really be more specific because Evolution or Evolution-Exchange
(exchange component) tend to crash a lot.

If you want more info let me know, but so far I've found Evolution unusable
for exchange accounts.
