I (think I) fixed all such warnings (in unstable/) a long time ago
though, and I don't think pkg.m4 was ever broken in that regard since
I've been working on it. What version of the "pkgconfig" package do
you have installed?  Waht version of what pilot* packages do you have
installed ('fink list -it pilot')?

Yeah, there's clearly something breaking lots of .m4 processing in
many different packages:(
