That would be me; sorry for not responding earlier, I was offline for a
couple of days. I have now made paraview-mpi packages with lammpi and
openmpi variants and put them into 10.4/unstable. They seem to build and
start up OK, but I would need help testing, as I know nothing about
mpi and next to nothing about paraview.

Unlike the gromacs packages, these paraview packages are just one big
chunk each, and they conflict/replace each other. I don't know if it is
possible/desirable to cut them into smaller pieces only some of which
would depend on mpi and the rest could be common to all of them.
