Indeed, both for coreutils' and for Apple's cp then.
(Or could it be that coreutils' cp is different under 10.5
than under 10.4 ??)
But it is just a precaution motivated by the following extract
from coreutils info file, for cp :
`-R'
`-r'
`--recursive'
