Hi Matt, So you're on a 10.4 PPC using the fink stable tree, right? You typically won't have to rebuild a package if it built successfully. Try running 'sudo apt-get update' and 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade' and see if that helps. Also, you might try running 'fink configure' and enabling the unstable tree (this would suggest rebuilding gcc with the newer version available in that tree, so that would of course take a long time to build). Also, while running configure you might check that all of your mirrors are set up. Lastly, which 'fink selfupdate' are you running? selfupdate-rync?
