I would guess that what is going on is that you built ghostscript while you were playing around with XQuartz-2.5.x, and the latter has a later libX11.6.dylib than does XQuartz-2.4.0 > > I have attempted to use X11-2.5.x (x=3 currently) but am unable to > obtain usable graphical output.
