Hi helpful-fink folks!
I'm trying to install fink-0.29.10 from source on Snow Leopard (10.6.4) and
I'm running into some issues. I get the following error:
$./bootstrap
Your hardware is a 64bit-compatible intel processor, so you have the option

running Fink in 64bit-only mode. This is not recommended for most users,
since
many more packages are available for the default mode (which is mostly 32bit
but includes some 64bit packages). Which mode would you like to use?
(1) Default (mostly 32bit)
(2) 64bit-only

You are attempting to use the new 10.4 tree with an old version (build )
of the gcc 4.0 compiler, which is not supported. Please update your XCode
to
XCode 2.2.1 or later, and try again.
This is strange because I'm running Xcode Version 3.2.4 (1708) and gcc
4.2.1
$ gcc --version
i686-apple-darwin10-gcc-4.2.1 (GCC) 4.2.1 (Apple Inc. build 5664)
Copyright (C) 2007 Free Software Foundation, Inc.

When I look in /usr/bin/ I see files for gcc, gcc-4.0 and gcc-4.2 . Any
ideas what I can do to get fink to compile??
